Ningbo Electrical Alloy Successfully Introduces a Complete Set of Fully Automatic Punching, Cutting, and Welding Machines.
Ningbo Electrical Alloy Materials Co., Ltd. is a large-scale enterprise specializing in the production of silver alloy series electrical contacts. Located in the Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone in Zhejiang Province, the company has a history spanning over 20 years. In 1985, the company introduced a complete set of silver contact processing technologies, processes, and equipment from Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan, thereby firmly establishing its strong position among domestic and international peers. In 2008, the company’s output value of contacts reached 200 million RMB.
Currently, the company’s flagship product is the riveted composite contact. Riveting is a traditional assembly process for contacts; however, its main drawback is that it significantly affects the contact resistance of the finished product. Moreover, the riveting process is complex, involves high material costs, and results in poor product stability. If a highly automated welding process is adopted instead, the substantial impact of riveting on the contact resistance of the product can be overcome. “Integrated, automated production of spring-forming and contact-welding components” represents an inevitable trend in the contact manufacturing industry.
In 2008, the company decided to introduce a complete set of fully automatic punching, cutting, and welding machines, thereby integrating the entire production process—from the manufacture of electrical contacts to the forming and welding of reeds. After a year of customizing the equipment, the complete set was successfully delivered at the end of March 2009. Currently, the equipment is undergoing installation and commissioning.
Compared with other related products, this equipment boasts the following technical features and advantages:
1) The manufacturing process is cost-effective and efficient;
2) The machine features convenient internal operation and short changeover times for different products, enabling the system to meet customers’ needs for fast and precise alignment.
3) Low maintenance costs;
4) The punch die is easy to replace and the replacement time is short.
5) The forming punch uses a roller lubrication system that eliminates the need for lubricating oil, ensuring that the final formed products are dry, clean, and free from contamination.
The process flow of the complete automatic punching, cutting, and welding machine:
Copper strip unwinding—pre-stamping and forming—pre-formed copper strip feeding and positioning—welding of contact points—cutting silver wires to the required length as needed—feeding and positioning of the copper strip—welded silver wires undergo precise shaping and dimensioning of the contact points via fine stamping/molding—further feeding and positioning of the copper strip—bending and final forming of the contact points.
The introduction of a complete set of fully automatic punching, cutting, and welding machines represents an extension of our company’s product line into the contactor sector, solidifying our company’s leading position in the contactor industry.
